Piggy Back Camping
Escape to the peaceful surroundings of our elevated Piggy Back Field, where you can enjoy stunning countryside views and a relaxing camping experience on our working farm in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds.
Set slightly away from the main site, Piggy Back Field offers a quieter atmosphere while still being within easy reach of all our facilities.
Please note that Piggy Back Field is accessed via a hill, and the walk to and from the main site takes approximately 5 minutes. While many guests love the peaceful location and beautiful views, we recommend considering the walk if you have young children or limited mobility.
On the main site you'll find our newly renovated shower and toilet facilities, reception, farm shop, The Hive Café Bar, children's play areas, farm walks and all of our other on-site amenities, giving you the best of both worlds – a peaceful camping pitch with everything you need just a short stroll away.
Our spacious camping pitches are set on chalk ground, which provides excellent drainage in all weather conditions. However, the ground can become very firm during dry periods, so we strongly recommend bringing a heavy-duty malletand sturdy tent pegs to make pitching your tent much easier.

A Few Handy Tips
As Piggy Back Field is on gently sloping countryside, some pitches are more level than others. If you're camping with a trailer tent or similar equipment, you may find levelling blocks useful.
Don't forget to pack:
-
A strong mallet for pitching into the chalk ground.
-
Sturdy tent pegs, especially in dry weather.
-
Levelling blocks if your camping equipment requires them.
During your stay, you're welcome to enjoy our daily Mini Farmer Club at 9:00am, along with additional family activities and events during school holidays and peak periods.
As a low-noise campsite, the soundtrack to your stay is simply birdsong, fresh country air and the peaceful surroundings of our working farm in the Yorkshire Wolds.
